Started during the economic collapse of 2008–2009, this series grew from the shared cultural frustration and fear stemming from the world-wide economic melt down which started in the US. The American lending systems had failed, many companies and banks closed, giant corporations went bankrupt and there was a general malaise that you could feel almost anywhere.
Barack Obama was the President (2009 to 2017) and although he and his team worked hard to get us through this unprecedented time, there were many of us who felt extreme anger towards the capitalist, wealth-hungry economic system that writ large, oversold itself and failed a great number of Americans. This was the inspiration for these 5 paintings.
