The idea for this series came about while walking around my local HomeDepot a few summers ago. These 12”x24” wood panels were on sale for about $1.00, so I bought twenty. I started as I usually do, working on several panels simultaneously as they hung on my studio wall. Moving between two or three panels at a time allowing ideas, colors, and compositions to evolve in conversation with one another. This process, for me, is fluid and intuitive, with each work influencing and ‘talking’ to the next.
Some pieces reveal themselves as open-ended narratives, while others emerge to expose a more personal and obvious story. Together the group is another family of art works that reflect my process and add to my overall body of work. As color, texture, humor, and curiosity remain central to my practice rather than illustrating a single idea, these works invite multiple readings, leaving space for unexpected connections and individual interpretation.
