relaxing in the magic of #stbarths @lesereno 😉 relaxing in the magic of #stbarths @lesereno ;)
Adventurous orange tabby kitten, seeks ‘forever’ home.

Vibrant and energetic, “Sunny” lives up to her name. The world fascinates Sunny and she’s eager to explore it all. Playing is what she enjoys the most, especially when people are engaging her. After she’s had her fun, Sunny loves to snuggle up for cuddling, petting and purring. Though she’s okay spending time on her own, Sunny can get bored and prefers being with friends and family — she’s very social and is happy to meet new people.

Sunny is getting used to being an indoor cat. She can ‘love’ bite and swat because she wants human food or your attention, or when overstimulated. She’s also fascinated by water! and loves a running faucet or a glass of water you’ve left out. Sunny is very smart, and food-motivated, and seems a good candidate for training.

Sunny loves seeking out closets, counter tops, and the latest empty cardboard box or paper bag, or anywhere she can spend a few cozy hours.

Sunny will thrive in an active home where human adults and teens, or other cats could engage and play with her. Homes with toddlers, young children, or singles who work long hours outside the home are not a good fit. But if you (and/or you and a partner — and another kitty perhaps) work from home, that would be a great fit!

SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. DM for more info — meow 🙂

PS. Sunny is happy in her travel carrier and loves viewing the outside world while in a cab or car ride.

ArtBridge -- Cape Town, South Africa. Two years in ArtBridge -- Cape Town, South Africa. Two years in the making, this is our first project on the African continent. Guided and managed by Michael Bell and his very capable team at PAINT and the Tafelsig community.

Text from the project: We the people of Tafelsig would like to thank the Artbridge team from the bottom of our hearts. The project consists of 5 murals that depict the different graffiti styles and genres. It also consists of paint designs that compliment the artwork and adds color and character to the space which forms part of the Tafelsig Cultural Node.

Our objective is to beautify our parks and public spaces through mural arts and painting. The mural project is situated on AZ Berman Drive in Tafelsig, Mitchell's Plain. A suburb about 30 kilometers outside of Cape Town, South Africa. It addresses the issue of culture and heritage which many young people struggle with - even in post apartheid South Africa.

The artists (DFeatOnce, Urban Khoi Soldier and Chief Kingsley) are all from the Mitchell's Plain and surrounding areas - under the leadership of Mak1One. The painting team consisted of Gilbert October, Munzier Gallant and Angelo Waterloo. The Information Panel was installed on 01 June by PageMaster Graphix. Our Co-sponsors was Hamilton's Brushware, AkzoNobel, Dulux SA and Mitchell's Plain Online. Over the next couple of days, we will apply the finishing touches (painting of walls, walkways, pavements, fencing, etc). Weather permitting of course.

We have already been inundated with requests to beautify the wall on the opposite side of the current mural project and community members have already started cleaning the space around it. See attached pictures.

Installation text (edited for length):  “...The three artists worked together on this mural and the idea centers around the spreading of positive messages in very difficult and trying times”.

I had fair warning. “Sardinia is addictive”.. I had fair warning. “Sardinia is addictive”.. or so they told me, and holy sh—t, were they right! This island is magic. The sea, the sand, the food, the flora, the scents, the breeze, the people. I could go on.

All I can say is you must add Sardinia to your bucket list. I’m already scanning my calendar for the very next moment that I can get back, next year for sure, and hopefully sooner. Who will join me? Don’t over think it, just plan on getting here asap! you’ll most certainly thank me 🙂

Roma! One of my most beloved, and favorite cities. Roma! One of my most beloved, and favorite cities. I’ve been coming here since the age of 17, when my mother brought us to Rome to introduce us to our family’s Italian heritage, and attend a Papal address. In recent years, I’ve been lucky enough to visit once or twice a year at least, visiting friends, family and attending to current work projects.

As such, in 2009 ArtBridge helped establish, and partner with OffSiteArt, to create a wonderful public art project for the then earthquake devastated city of L’Aquila.

Since that time, our combined organization’s efforts have led to a far reaching and robust display of local artist’s work around this beautiful and charming Abruzzo city.

Fast forward to 2016, when I spent an extended period here at the America Academy in Rome as a visiting artist, during which time I pushed my painting practice to another level resulting in a new, large body of work which I still consider some of my most innovative.

The romance and charm of Rome always manages to captivate, it’s the people, the food, and that Roman “who knows what” that I can never quite get enough of. Whatever it is, I just keep coming back.

Ciao! a presto, Roma!

Riding has helped keep me grounded this last year when all things around us have been uncertain. Now, that the city, and the world, are coming back to life, all things seem possible, and all is good. The work (above) of Harlem, and Brooklyn-based art The work (above) of Harlem, and Brooklyn-based artist and activist Helina Metaferia is the first of 10 public artworks set to appear across New York’s five boroughs this summer through Not a Monolith, a new professional development initiative for Black artists organized by ArtBridge, an initiative that works to transform New York City’s many miles of construction fencing and scaffolding into a venue for art.

Through the project, five New York artists have been commissioned to create two new artworks each. Paul Deo, Jeff Kasper, Dana Robinson, and Glori J. Tuitt join Metaferia as the Not a Monolith fellows.

Exciting that Hyperallergic picked up the press re Exciting that Hyperallergic picked up the press release describing our largest project to date. “Another project within the program is City Canvas, in which the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the nonprofit ArtBridge will commission 60 artists to install temporary murals and other artworks on sidewalk sheds and construction fencing throughout the city’s public housing system. #FBF / Over this past year I’ve spent many weeke #FBF / Over this past year I’ve spent many weekend nights at the studio. It was my place of refuge, a place of peace. Reconnecting to my creativity and self expression through art making.

Using my hands to create, and turning off my brain was key to my happiness during this odd an unpredictable year. Making art is a meditation, especially at night. It’s one of the few times that my thoughts don’t get in the way.

Posted a while back, then accidentally deleted, this image is emblematic of the many pandemic nights I spent at my studio — music cranked, caffeine fueled, and in the zone.

ArtBridge: Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Artist: @voodof ArtBridge: Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Artist: @voodofe

Working under the auspices of City Canvas, a DOB pilot program, ArtBridge curates and installs local and site specific, temporary artwork on sidewalk sheds and construction fencing.

We work with local artists and communities to transform construction structures into spaces for temporary art installations. This is a partnership with @nyculture @nyc_buildings_department and @nycmayorsoffice

‘SOAR’ (pictured here) is a 20’ foot wide mural by interdisciplinary artist Voodo Fé. This mural was installed on construction fencing in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, at the intersection of Fulton and Downing, in December 2020. Voodo Fé’s large-scale mural features a hand-painted eagle made from an array of vibrant colors to depict the diversity of the world, inspiring us to rise above all odds.

Voodo Fé is a Brooklyn based artist who works in various mediums, including large scale paintings, jewelry, pillows, and apparel. He's been commissioned by brands like Calvin Klein, DKNY, and the NBA, and has created over 8000 artworks, with more coming. His artwork employs the use of color and image theory to reduce stress.
