Every few years I self-produce a show of my work, combining both new and old pieces as well as experimental projects. This show was anchored by a series called Everyday Objects -- My Roman Quarantine, that was created over a two week period in the Spring of 2022 while quarantined with Covid in Rome. See the Artworks section of the website for a full description of that series.
The show was also built around color and content. I choose some pieces that use blue as well as two large canvases from my Personal Geometry series that incorporate bright color.
Included here is also a group of coach handbags done in my graffiti-style of decoration, as well as a large blue canvas called Economy Bomb based on the economic meldonw on '08- '09. That same wall contains works from Disconstructing Trump created during the 2016 presidential election. These works are hand-cut collages asssembled from laser printed iphone photos. No computer, or digital process was used, the pixilation is simply an artifact of photographing the television screen during the Clinton-Trump debates.
And finalluy, on the wall closest to the window I have 4 pieces from Signs and Symbols. These symbols have no immediate meaning but are rooted in my work as a graphic designer and my love of typography. I’m attracted to type, line, form and stroke and create the symbols easily and in various sizes and colors.
The show ran for about one month and was well attended.
